From the moment I stepped into Ciara’s house on the morning of her Moyvalley wedding, I knew it was going to be a great day. Her house was bustling with family and bridesmaids. Everyone congregated in the kitchen, many still in their pajamas. I was lucky to capture them giving Ciara some special presents, to remind her of how much she was loved. It was a brilliant start to a beautiful day.
The couple decided on the Moyvalley Hotel and Golf Resort on the border of Kildare and Meath for their reception. The grounds at Moyvalley Hotel are beautiful; if anyone is on the hunt for a venue that would lend its self to fantastic outdoor photography, then you should certainly check it out. It has rolling fields, landscaped lawns, mature trees, stone cottages, the works. As you can see from these photos it’s a great spot for some outdoor photos.
I made sure to photograph the lovely signs and decorations brought by the couple to the venue. Couples often go to great efforts to imbue their special day with a sense of who they are as individuals, and as a couple. You can see here they this was important to Bernard and Ciara also. I like to photograph these mementos of the day. They serve as a reminder of the couples unique identity, and also help to document the small parts of the day that give a sense of the broader atmosphere the couple created for their wedding. Check out their rustic signage and very cool cake!
