Keith on the morning of his own wedding, May 2017
Every wedding is a thousand great and small moments. My motivation as your wedding photographer is to capture all those moments which become your wedding day. It’s an enormous responsibility on my shoulders. You only get married once, and the photographer only has one chance to get this right. My photojournalism style is authentic, with minimal fuss. This means that I stay away from overly formal images and concentrate on that which is more difficult, but also more important, to capture. These are the small but meaningful moments which you can never get back. There is only one chance to capture the emotion of such an important day.
The significance of these fleeting moments drives me to get it right, first time, every time, during every wedding. To achieve it, I am unobtrusive, low-key and casual, and swift! Your day can unfold as it should without your conscious awareness of my presence. The images I produce are full of colour and emotion. They document the standout moments but also the small encounters which may have been overlooked if I had not been there.
When I’m not shooting weddings, I work on a variety of photography projects. My previous commissions have included photographing the Houses of the Oireachtas, the Royal College of Physicians and the presidential residence, Arás an Uachtaráin. I also travel widely, and bring my camera on all my adventures. Landscape and wildlife photography is another passion, and I apply what I have learned taking photos across the globe to my wedding photography. The biggest lesson? Search for the small moments whilst faithfully documenting the great.
