Sara & Evan – Mount Falcon
Sara and Evan’s 2022 celebration illustrates the best of an updated and contemporary take on a ‘traditional’ celebration. They chose a church wedding with a reception in glorious Mount Falcon in Co. Mayo. Church weddings can often generate some lovely images as something about the more traditional setting often create some giddiness and happy nerves amongst the wedding party while everyone waits for the bride to arrive. That atmosphere comes across in these images, where we can see the groomsmen and the guests laughing together as they wait for Sara to join them. Sara was led into the church by her 3 bridesmaids dressed in classic burgundy, and the couple’s niece and nephew. Check out the images of the little ones waiting in the church entrance for their big moment to shine, so very cute. After the ceremony there was more great chat and laughter outside the church in the bright sunshine. The challenge for me in these scenarios is to ensure that these informal moments are captured, whilst also making sure the couple have enough time to move on to the next stage of the day. Luckily at this stage I am practiced in time management! For this couple, the next stage involved some G&T’s in the sunshine for their guests whilst they made their way across Mount Falcon’s lovely gardens to meet me for some quick photos. In addition to the usual wedding party images, the bride made sure to grab some photos with her wider circle of friends. Inside the venue, the couple gave a nod to their love of travel in their table names- all named after locations they had visited together; Australia, Bali, Singapore, Chile, Argentina, Hungary, and many more! The fathers of the happy couple offered up touching and heartfelt speeches, and the best man drew on his many years of friendship with Evan to ensure I was able to capture one of my favorite photos from dinner, of Evan cringing in laughter in response to his speech!
