WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY
The Best of my Documentary Photography
Documentary photography should be the ultimate goal for anyone’s wedding day. It entails photographing natural moments without intervention, posing, or staging. This means images are produced with less direction from the photographer, whose aim should be to capture the truth and realism of the magic moment.
A candid photographer is there to anticipate what might happen, and is skilled through years of experience to read body language and background context that might indicate when something special is about to occur. A moment happens so fleetingly and then it is gone, so a good photographer must have the skill to anticipate a photo before it happens.
People look their best when they are at their most natural and most relaxed, and real moments are more valuable than anything that could be orchestrated. These photographs provide a sense of some of these ideas, all taken from various weddings I have shot over the last few years. Enjoy!
